Why Broadbeach chooses us

Why Broadbeach Locals Choose Gold Coast Demolitions

Broadbeach packs a lot into a small area. Older walk-up blocks sit beside new towers, the dining streets are busy day and night, and the tram runs down the highway. We plan each job around the people, traffic and buildings right next to it.

Walk-Ups Taken Down Safely

Two-storey walk-up blocks come down floor by floor, with services cut and neighbours protected on every side.

Strip-Outs Around Trading

Restaurant, bar and shop fit-outs stripped back to the shell, timed so the businesses next door keep trading.

Asbestos Checked First

Blocks from the 1960s, 70s and 80s are surveyed, and any asbestos is removed by licensed removalists before work starts.

Pedestrians and Traffic Planned For

Loading, truck movements and footpath closures are planned around diners, events and the light rail corridor.

Written Quote Before We Start

A free site inspection covers access, asbestos and every structure on the lot, so nothing on the block is missed.

Approvals and Disconnections Sorted

Building approval, notifications and disconnection of power, water, gas and NBN organised for you.

What's Different About Demolition in Broadbeach

Broadbeach, in short

Broadbeach starts about four kilometres south of Surfers Paradise and is one of the smallest suburbs on the Gold Coast. It centres on Kurrawa Beach, with Oracle Boulevard's restaurants, Pacific Fair and The Star Gold Coast all close by. Broadbeach Waters and its canals sit to the west and Mermaid Beach to the south. The Gold Coast Highway runs through the middle, with the light rail down its centre, and Hooker Boulevard links it inland to Nerang.

Walk-ups making way for towers

The streets south of Charles Avenue were built up with two-storey walk-up blocks in the 1960s and 70s, locally called the Broadbeach terraces, and a few brick walk-ups followed in the 80s. Parts of the beachfront have no height limit, so many of those older blocks are now being replaced by apartment towers. That makes unit block demolition the main job here. It also means an asbestos survey on almost every building, because most of them were built before 1990.

Sand, and working close

Broadbeach was built on coastal dunes, and some were sand-mined before the town grew. The ground is sand, which digs easily, but holes left by footings, slabs and pools need to be backfilled and compacted before the builder moves in. Lots are small and often hard up against the neighbours, so walls are taken down in a planned order and dust is kept down with water the whole way.

The council, and getting to you

Broadbeach is in the City of Gold Coast. Most demolitions need building approval, and a beachfront lot may carry extra planning requirements, so Gold Coast Demolitions checks what applies before quoting. Trucks come in off the Gold Coast Highway or Hooker Boulevard. Loading is kept inside the site where possible and planned around the tram, restaurant deliveries and weekend crowds.

Demolition in Broadbeach, Answered

It depends on the size and construction of the building, whether asbestos is present, access from the street and how close the neighbours are. After a free site inspection you get a written quote covering approvals, surveys, demolition, waste and site clearance.

Yes. Two-storey walk-ups are the most common job here. Unit block demolition is planned around services, access and the buildings on each side, and quoted after a site inspection.

Most demolitions in the City of Gold Coast need building approval, and some beachfront lots have extra planning requirements. Gold Coast Demolitions checks what applies to your lot and organises it.

It's common. Most of the walk-up blocks here were built in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, well before 1990. Each one is surveyed before demolition, and any asbestos is removed by licensed removalists.

Yes. Strip-outs are worked from inside the tenancy, with waste loaded at quiet times and neighbouring businesses told what's happening before we start.

Truck movements are timed outside peak dining and event times, loading stays inside the site where possible, and any footpath or lane use is arranged before work starts.

A strip-out can take a few days. Most houses and small walk-up blocks take about 3 to 7 days on site, after the asbestos survey, approvals and disconnections are done.
