Why Robina chooses us

Why Robina Locals Choose Gold Coast Demolitions

Robina was planned from scratch, and its oldest homes are now reaching the age where they come down. That means brick houses on tidy estate streets, pools and slabs to break out, and blocks that back onto lakes or fairways. We plan each job so the street, the water and the neighbours are left as we found them.

1980s Homes Surveyed

Robina's first homes went up in the 1980s, before 1990. Every one is surveyed, and any asbestos is removed by licensed removalists before work starts.

Written Quote Before We Start

A free site inspection covers the house, the pool, the driveway and access, so the quote covers the whole job.

Pools and Slabs Broken Out

Old pools, driveways and paths come out with the house, and the holes are filled and compacted.

Estate Neighbours Respected

Robina streets are quiet and close-knit. Neighbours get notice first, and dust and noise are kept down.

Approvals and Disconnections Sorted

Building approval, notifications and disconnection of power, water, gas and NBN organised for you.

Water and Fairway Frontages

Lots that back onto a lake or golf course are worked from the street side, with the back boundary protected.

What's Different About Demolition in Robina

Robina, in short

Robina sits about ten kilometres south-south-west of Surfers Paradise, with Mudgeeraba to the west and Varsity Lakes, Merrimac and Clear Island Waters on its other sides. It didn't grow like the older coastal suburbs. It was drawn up as one of Australia's first master-planned communities in the 1980s, around constructed lakes, golf courses and a town centre. Today that centre holds Robina Town Centre, the hospital, the train station and the stadium, and Bond University has its main campus here. The M1, Robina Parkway and Bermuda Street carry most of the traffic.

Houses from the first estates

Because Robina is young, the houses that come down here aren't Queenslanders or fibro shacks. They're late-1980s and 90s brick and rendered family homes, often with a pool out the back and a long concrete driveway out the front. The house is usually the easy part. The pool, the slab and the paving take planning too, so we price them from the start. Homes from the 1980s were built before 1990, so an asbestos survey still comes first.

Built on reshaped farmland

Before the estates, this was low-lying, swampy dairy country. It was reshaped in the 1980s around Robina Waters, Lake Orr and West Lake, and Mudgeeraba Creek still runs down through the suburb into the lakes. Flood warnings for the creek have covered parts of Robina, so we check your lot for flood and site overlays before quoting. Once the house is gone, footings, slabs and pool shells are removed and the ground is backfilled and compacted for the new build.

The council, and getting to you

Robina is in the City of Gold Coast. Most demolitions need building approval, and Robina Central runs under its own planning agreement, so Gold Coast Demolitions checks what applies to your lot before quoting. Trucks come off the M1 at Robina Parkway or in along Bermuda Street. On lake and golf course lots, all loading happens from the street side, and game days near the stadium are planned around.

Demolition in Robina, Answered

It depends on the size and construction of the house, whether asbestos is present, access, and what else is on the block, such as a pool or driveway. After a free site inspection you get a written quote covering approvals, surveys, demolition, waste and site clearance.

Most house demolitions in the City of Gold Coast need building approval, and lots inside Robina Central come under their own planning agreement. We check what applies to your lot and organise it.

It could. Any home built before 1990 may contain asbestos in eaves, wet areas or sheeting. It's surveyed before demolition, and anything found is removed by licensed removalists.

Yes. Gold Coast Demolitions removes the house, pool, driveway and paths in one job, then backfills and compacts the ground so the block is ready for your builder.

No, it just needs planning. Machines and trucks work from the street side, the back boundary is protected, and nothing is pushed toward the water or fairway.

Flood warnings for the creek have covered parts of Robina, but it varies from lot to lot. We check the flood and site overlays for your address before quoting.

Most home demolitions take 3 to 7 days on site, after the asbestos survey, approvals and disconnections are done. A pool or large slab can add a day or two.
